Mais Que Música: Final
Yeah
Eu ficava acordado até o amanhecer
Sonhando, hoje esses sonhos ganham vida
Comecei a escrever minha história, encheria páginas
Começo a jogar o pick and roll, ninguém trava meu flow
Minha dor é tipo tênis do PSA, tudo original
Quando minha mensagem for, meu círculo é menor
Dormindo dentro do carro
Tive altos, tive baixos
Dizer a coisa perfeita
Eu queria o final perfeito
Eu queria a história perfeita, o projeto perfeito
Coloquei tanta pressão em mim mesmo e
Escrevia algo e descartava, escrevia, descartava
E então finalmente, umas semanas atrás eu pensei
O que eu estou fazendo? Estou tirando
O sentido disso
Estou perdendo o sentido disso
Estou tentando fazer perfeito
Literalmente cresceram junto comigo
Do garoto deprimido, raivoso, sabe
Passei noites incontáveis no celular lendo
Todas as memórias comigo
Pra sempre
Eu amo vocês
More Than Music Finale
Yeah
I used to lay awake in bed until the morning light
Fantasize about my dreams now they come to life
It's been over a decade but damn I still remember
The night I dropped my first song
and felt this breath of life
I started writing down my story, I could fill up pages
Thinking maybe if I'm lucky I'll perform on stages
I wanted it so bad, I didn't even feel nauseous
I poured my heart out to the world when I couldn't face it
Every setback I received I swear has made mе stronger
I wouldn't trade it for the world, not a singlе dollar
I know God's been preparing me for so much greater
'Cause I just found out that next year I'll become a father
Y'all really been with me since
seventeen in grandma's basement
When I was broke and y'all was sharing me with inspiration
His humbleness, he more than music on people's skin
A message I know gon' stick around when these numbers fading
I took this further than anyone ever thought I'd go
new band it's oh so
Hated my delivery but wanna slay it's delicious
Start to run the pick and roll, can't trip the flow
My pain game is PSA tennis, all original
the underdog, the up and comer
Ten years since SwaggyTracks, post Dakota summer
Made all these hardline fans, I made a couple brothers
A group of sinners with broken souls who found each other
It's made me better since I stopped tryna please
everyone but me
My only focus now is when I'm gone
When my message leave, my circle smaller but I promise you
That we thick as thieves
I probably wouldn't be alive today without that true belief
I'm just so grateful I ever got the chance to share my heart
I lost myself for years in my 20's, it tore my life apart
I'd spend my last dollars to record them sleep inside my car
Some people think they know me
but they've never seen my darkest scars
So, shadowed everyone who stepped beside me through the rain
Through the process of me growing up
I wish I'd do the same
Took some highs, took some lows
But we did it all together
I'd be lying if I told you I don't think that this is fate
So, shadowed everyone who stepped beside me through the rain
Through the process of me growing up, I wish I'd do the same
If I had the chance to do it twice
There's nothing I would change
Cause the purpose found in music was worth every bit of pain
Yeah
It was worth every bit of pain
I did it man
I did it
I honestly didn't think I was gonna finish this album
Been going through a lot of personal stuff
a lot of life stuff
Just been spiraling man, tryna, tryna say the perfect thing
I wanted the perfect ending
I wanted the perfect story, the perfect project
Just put so much pressure on myself and would
write something and scrap it, write it, scrap it
And then finally, a couple weeks ago I was like
what am I doing? I'm sucking the meaning out of this
I'm losing the meaning of it
I'm trying to make it perfect
but nothing has been perfect in my life, you know
I'm not perfect, my career isn't perfect
why should my art be perfect?
It's funny that I can get so close to
these songs that I'm making that even
I can lose sight of, of the meaning
I started thinking what's so special I think about
about my career, about this whole
More Than Music movement is that a lot of you
guys have literally grown up alongside me
From the depressed, angry, you know
17 year old kid all the way to the soon to be father
30 year old man that's speaking to you now
All the good, all the bad
all the less than the highs, the lows, everything
You guys have watched me go through it all
We've gone through it together and I think that's just a
It's something I'm forever grateful for
If you've been to a show, you've heard me say this, you know
When I was at my darkest moments
my lowest moments, I felt like I had no one
I started putting it all into these songs
and it led me to you guys
And you've had more of an impact on
my life than I think you'll ever know
I've spent countless nights on my phone reading
messages from people who've been to hell and back
And they still got fight, they still got joy and
And it was my music that helped them get through it
And I'm just, I'm humbled man
I'm so humbled
I don't deserve it
I'm not the best artist, the best singer, the best rapper
I just try to put things
that are on my heart into these songs
And the fact that people relate to it is beyond belief man
I got so much gratitude
So as I, I close the chapter to
this liminal phase of my life
I just want to say man, I've learned a lot
I'm taking all these lessons with me
all the memories with me
It's been the journey of a lifetime over the past decade
And I got all of you to thank
So I just want to say one last time, much love
I will see you guys all very soon on the internet
at a show, somewhere
In whatever's next for my life
And one last time I want to say
More Than Music, forever
Forever
I love you guys
