What if you could come back just for a day?
Who would you see first and what would you say?
Have you been watching us making our way
Without you?

Would you watch from afar or come straight to my door?
Would words come out slowly or spill on the floor?
Do you still know me? And you'd say, "Of course
You've just been on tour

And baby, heaven is a jazz club
I'm playing for you from above
Baby, heaven is a dance floor
And I spend my nights with Lady Luck
Tired feet are never sore
Crowd is begging me for more
Angel, you're the one I'm waiting for
Baby, heaven is a jazz club
I'll save a seat for you when you come"

We'd walk and I'd show you the city I chose
Lessons I've learned and things I still don't know
If only you'd met my good friend, we were close
And you'd say, "I know

'Cause I met him at the jazz club
We're playing for you from above
Yeah, I've seen him on the dance floor
Oh, he can't get enough
Tired feet are never sore
Crowd is begging him for more
Angel, you're the one we're waiting for
Baby, heaven is a jazz club
Promise me you won't rush
Heaven is a jazz club
And I'll save a seat for you when you come"
